Dekasang Rajbari Gauripur
Located in Lower Assam (Western part of Assam), Dekasang Rajbari Gauripur Royal Palace gives you a unique opportunity to cherish an important part of Assam's history while staying at this beautiful royal palace. Designed and built by an invited Chinese renowned architect with Victorian Design, the architecture of the palace is remarkable and distinct in its own way. This building is the 3rd monumental building of the whole royal palace, where the king used to play billiards, it id also used as a study centre. Dekasang Rajbari Gauripur is a beautiful specimen of high architectural development of feudal age. The palace as a residence for the royal family was built after Pratap Chandra Barua shifted the Headquarter of zamindary from Rangamati to Gauripur in 1860. Followed by Maharaja Prabhat Chandra Barua and his son's noted Film maker Pramatesh Chandra Barua, Prakritish Chandra Barua and the youngest Pranabesh Chandra Barua along with noted Goalparia Folk singer Padmashree Pratima Barua Pandey used to practice her music in this building.
At present this building is restored by Dekasang Group of Resorts and operated as a Heritage destination for tourist.
